Fronius hosts ÖGS workshop

With an international network, the ÖGS is a welding community that promotes the exchange of expert knowledge. Workshops organized by the ÖGS share specialist expertise on innovations taking place in welding, brazing, surfacing, cutting, and manufacturing with additive metals.

A number of speakers from different companies held talks, including Gerhard Posch from VA Böhler Welding GmbH, who spoke on “How filler materials can help reduce welding fumes,” and Guido Reuter from the ÖGS, who gave an update on the new European Commission regulation on “Welding fume reduction.” We also gave two presentations. Alfred Hartinger spoke about MIG fume extraction torches, while Michael Winkler and Jürgen Wirnsperger covered virtual welding. Another highly valued session was on cost-effective and safe laser welding with the LightWELD laser by LASACO Schweißtechnik GmbH.

Participants were impressed and gave very positive feedback, making this workshop an all-round success.

One of the best workshops in years, all thanks to Fronius?

At the end of the workshop, the importance of these regular meetings was emphasized again. There are generally four or five workshops a year in Austria, one of which is hosted by Fronius. Everyone is already looking forward to the next workshop, which will be hosted by Zultner in Graz.
